My first posting in a blog. Its kind of making me nervous and really excited. I have been following a lot of food blogs online, but never attempted to have one of my own. So this being the first post, I wanted to add something sweet. I am absolutely a sweet loving person. I drool about cakes. My first attempt to make cake was when I was 12yrs old and the journey has continued all the way till now. And hoping this journey takes me long way !! Here goes my chocolate cup cake and eggless one.
Makes about 9 big cup cakes
White Flour - 7 tbls . You can use half n half of wheat 'n' white flour
Baking Soda - 1 tsp
Dr.Oetker Dark Chocolate Powder - 6 tbls.
( You can use any chocolate powder.This gives a little bitterness, which I usually like in chocolate cakes).
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Powdered Sugar - 3/4 th cup
Milk - 1 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1tsp. I used vanilla sugar.
Mix the dry ingredients in a big bowl , flour, baking soda, dark chocolate powder, salt and sugar.
Sieve it a couple of times so that no lumps are found.
Add essence and Milk little at a time and mix into a smooth paste.
Pre-heat your oven to 200 c and pour into cup cake moulds.
Bake for about 20 - 25 mins .
Check if a toothpick comes out clean.
Enjoy your hot cake straight from the oven or frost it after it cools down. I could not wait to frost it. So enjoyed mine without one.
