Moong Dal Halwa is a very rich and satiating dessert.Split green gram dal cooked richly into a mouthwatering dessert.
This is one sweet I love the most. Not that I don't like the rest of the sweets family :-) I remember these being my birthday treat. Never felt guilty then gobbling one after another , but now every tiny bit is measured for its calories :-) !! Of course sweets are never meant for the calorie conscious but once in a while you can indulge in some simple pleasures of life. This halwa requires some practice and you should be ready to work your biceps out :-) Unattended this halwa can easily burn .It needs constant stirring for a long time and surely your hands will do the talking. But at the end , its worth all the efforts. Thanks Mom for keeping our tummies happy , Always !!
1 cup Moong Dal
1 1/4 cup Sugar
A big pinch of Saffron
1 tablespoon Milk
3/4 cup Ghee
Note: To cut it into squares, the halwa should form into a lump of ball. This its the right time to transfer it onto a plate.
