Focaccia is flat Italian bread similar to a pizza base. It's seasoned with herbs and topped with different vegetables like olives or onions. It can be eaten as a starter or as a snack.
I love breads !! I usually try different kinds of breads available. Some are hard, chewy and you need to pull it apart. And it can surely exercise your jaws. My preference is warm, soft and lovely looking breads.
In Italy, when you visit a restaurant you are always served with some bread or focaccia first with some warm olive oil as an accompaniment. The olive oil is served in a bowl and bread pieces arranged along. You dip your bread in olive oil and eat it.There is a bottle of olive oil on every table for extra serving, if you don't mind the calories.
Now, making a focaccia at home is relatively easy and uses the usual ingredients found in your baking pantry. You can be quite creative by using a combination of different herbs and vegetables.
